Introduction

PAEE/ALE’ 2026, International Conference on Active Learning in Engineering Education, is organized on June 4 - 6, 2026, at Taisho University, Tokyo, Japan. The conference proceedings will be indexed in Scopus.

The conference merges two international events: the International Symposium on Project Approaches in Engineering Education (PAEE), organized by the PAEE association since 2009, and the Active Learning in Engineering Education Workshop (ALE), organized by Active Learning in Engineering Education Network since 2000. PAEE/ALE’ 2026 will be the 11th collaboration of the two communities.

PAEE and ALE have been organized in different parts of the world to enhance Active Learning, Problem and Project-Based Learning in Engineering Education, promoting through the active involvement of participants in hands-on sessions, workshops, debates, industry panels, poster and paper sessions, and student project awards.
